“Days of banica” promotes unleavened pie or banica. It is traditional gastronomic manifestation held in Bela Palanka, small town known for cherishing old customs, culture, and traditions of the Via Militaris region. This is a family-friendly manifestation that gathers together many generations in one place to celebrate family values and unity. Banica  is similar to burek and other types of pies but some ingredients are different as well as way of preparation

The event is held in second week of August in the park Vrelo. The event has a cultural and competitive character that includes housewives’ competition in making the best banica. Competition part is followed by entertaining program for visitors that include sports activities, concerts, shows, and organizing workshops
